Dr Abel Arredondo-Galeana is working as Research Associate in the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Marine Engineering (NAOME) at the University of Strathclyde. He is part of the University of Strathclyde Ocean REFuel team and his work involves the study of fluid-structure interactions of offshore renewables, with a focus on energy extraction and load alleviation.

Dr Arredondo-Galeana did his PhD at the University of Edinburgh in experimental fluid dynamics. He has worked in a wide range of marine and wind applications that include, morphing blades, lift based wave energy converters, spinnakers, cross flow turbines, flexible floating platforms and Flettner rotors. He has vast experience in experimental tank testing, analytical and numerical modelling applied to offshore renewables.
