As a chemical engineer, I worked in the R&D Department of Eti Maden, the world’s leading producer in boron reserves and a major international supplier of boron-based chemicals. I have over 10 years of experience (2011-2023) as a researcher, coordinator, and project leader in technology and product development focused on boron-based compounds. My work includes contributing to research and applied project evaluations, supporting the design and commissioning of pilot-scale production facilities, and publishing research articles. I have also closely followed developments in boron, its substitutes, and critical minerals through international conferences.

I completed my PhD at Gazi University while working at Eti Maden. My research focused on the synthesis of calcium borohydride for hydrogen storage and the catalytic dehydrogenation of borohydride compounds. Following my PhD, I conducted postdoctoral research at University of St Andrews on ammonia synthesis under mild conditions using Ca2NH-supported Ru catalysts. I also collaborated with industry on MWCNT growth and low-carbon hydrogen production via catalytic methane decomposition.

Currently, I work on complex metal hydride synthesis for hydrogen storage at University of Nottingham as part of the Ocean REFuel project
